Every... Single... DAY!

I have been in a strange mood toady. A happy, silly whimsical mood! and I've also decided that I need to start posting more. Like maybe daily. Yes.. welll, okay YES. haha It will happen because I have made up my mind. And self mastery is the greatest form of self respect right? Right.

First off I would like to say that texting conversations can be extremely annoying. EXPECT for when you are talking about something hilarious and you know the person you are talking to well enough that you imagine everything they are saying and the inflection and facial expressions with which they are saying it. SO funny. Emily, we are indeed full of laughter making.

I love church. It's one of the best ways to start out the week, don't you think so? I went to my family ward today because I sang a duet with my Father. My dad is talented. I’m grateful for his and my mother’s genes because they helped to develop the talents I have now! We sang Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee and my little brother Ben played a partial accompaniment on his Violin. He’s getting to be very good, I am so proud of him. And Ethan is as adorable as ever. Haha he kept dozing off to sleep in church on Sunday. It was pretty funny because every time his head would nod I’d poke him and he’d jolt up. Then I went to the singles ward and had a good Gospel Doctrine lesson on Johan and the Whale (or if you want to be technical, very large fish.)! We even colored! I love singles ward. Haha!

My mom and I talk about some crazy things. Things I don’t think anyone else ever talks about. Haha it’s pretty funny. And, My dad tell the most lame, most hilarious jokes and I love it because he laughs at them and pokes you like he's the funniest man on the planet, it's so great. My dad is an amazing man, I would be lucky to marry someone as good to me as he is to my mother. Oh! My little brother Ben is FIFTEEN! His birthday was on the 7th. That’s so strange. He’s really a legitimate teenager now, I can't ignore it anymore. He’s in high school and everything! And, he joined cross country! *sigh* what I wouldn’t give.

For Labor day my family all went hiking up in this BEAUTIFUL spot that is really not to far away. I love it. It’s up in the mountains and it’s called blue lake. You have to hike a mile down into it and in the summer you can swim and there are camping spots and rocks to leap off of and it is simply breath taking. If the Telestial kingdom’s beauty is equal to that of this Earth then I can understand when people say that everyone will find happiness in the kingdom they are in because the Earth is breathtaking. The Lord sure does know what he’s doing. It just makes me all the more excited for the glory of the Celestial Kingdom! I’m so glad I have knowledge of the truth. I can’t imagine not being able to have joy and excitement for both sides of life. Knowing even a sliver of what the Lord has in store for me is amazing. Nothing will keep me from that.

Sometimes… I like to go off-roading in a truck bed. And stand up while doing so! It’s a blast, especially when the guy is driving like a manic. Safety did not come first in this case! After we got up deep into the mountains we had a huge jam session and I played three of the songs I’ve written and people actually really liked them! I was so excited! Nervous. But it was exciting. I often feel like I live in my own little bubble of thoughts and that when I express them artistically no one but the Lord understands simply because… my expressions can be such a personal part of me; it’s personal even when the songs aren’t about me, they might be about… what I want for myself or don’t want or just… ya. Anyways, they were hits and it was exciting! I have found a pretty solid group of people here and I love Boise.

I have finished two whole books this week! One was A Walk In The Woods by Bill Bryson, and the other was Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Good STUFF. I have gotten in a bad habit of not reading enough. Sometimes I simply forget and I don’t understand how because reading is delightful and as satisfying as breathing or eating for me so this must be remedied. But it has fallen by the wayside as of late and I am determined to Good Samaritan as quickly as possible!

Well, that's really all I have for today. So, in the parting words of a pretty good country song, God is great. Milk is good. And, people are crazy. :D

Dreams Feel Real While We're In Them. It's Only When We Wake Up That We Realize Something Was Actually Strange.

I got to see my older brother last Monday for the first time in forever! I saw him only once after I’d left for spring semester and so it’d been quite a few months since we'd gotten together. My mom treated us to a movie and so we went to see Inception! It is honestly one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. It has a genius, creative plot only parallel to, perhaps, The Prestige and even then... Not even quite as good I love it. Haha it’s a movie you walk out of that you want to walk into immediately again. The perfectly tailored suits (I would notice that..), the graphics, the acting! All superb. Do you know what I mean? Anyways, it is definitely my list of movies to buy. After we got out of the movie we looked out the front windows to see it POURING rain. It was pretty much a monsoon, a glorious lightning filled monsoon. I was ecstatic! All the girls in the lobby were squirming and squealing about their hairdos while my brother and I stroll out the doors, eager to be in the downpour. It’s funny, I feel sometimes as though rain helps me breathe. When I’m in it, I feel as though I suddenly realize that I’ve been holding my breath and that I have slowly been suffocating in air that’s dryer than Hades. Then, the rain touches my skin, the humidity in the air reaches my lungs and soaks through my hair and I can really breath again. When the thunder shakes the air and the lightning charge lifts the hair off the back of your neck? Ah! I love it! Haha Thunder and lightning storms make me so happy.

Moral of this Blog? First, Now we people ask what job, out of any in the world, I would choose to have, I will be answering- An Inception Artist! Second, I would love to have a thunder and lightning storm to frolic through right now. Third, My brother is a pretty cool guy.

Beautiful People

As I walk through campus every day I see beautiful people. They’re everywhere here! And I don’t just mean sweet spirits, but genuinely attractive people. And it makes me wonder, do they know that there are people walking by on campus that are admiring their beauty? What would the world be if we all told the people we found attractive that we found them attractive? I think the world would be more confident, there would be more dates, more smiles and less time spent worrying about whether or not that cute guy in your science class things you’re attractive. Then again, if it that did happen, I would be worried that everyone would be stressing that no one would ever say anything. That would be traumatic. Unfortunately, it would be hard for me to go more than a few feet, on this campus without stopping someone to tell them. I honestly think that the BYU campuses may have the most attractive people in the world wandering around. Men, women, it doesn’t matter; Heavenly Father is a creative genius.

Love from an Unexpected Source

Sometimes life gives you beautiful moments. You’re just walking along, minding your own business and then life hands you a big batch of already made lemonade. It is a wonderful experience, my friends.

Well, to get to the point, one of these moments was handed to me to today. I was with two of my beautiful roommates in IF at the mall. My roomie Karen needed to get new shirts because she hadn’t gone shopping since she got off of her mission and was in desperate need of some new stuff. Who waits a full year to go shopping after you get off a mission? Karen does that’s who! But anyways, I was meandering through Wet Seal as she shopped when she and Peyton went into the dressing rooms. I stood near the entrance waiting there for them as they tried on the clothing when I turned around to wander around I turned to see the beautiful little face of a downs girl. She was grinning wildly as she shakes the hand of a woman standing nearby that had been smiling at her. She smiles and giggles as happy a clam to be sitting in a cart the shape of a car with eyes for headlights and seeing all of these people. As she’s shaking hands I walk around her cart watching and smiling along with everyone else when all of the sudden she reaches out and grabs my hand to shake it. I turn to give her my full attention when she unexpectedly pulls my arm in real close so my face is right there, gives me a HUGE kiss and then shouts out, “PRINCESS!” She then starts chatting away unintelligibly. It was adorable. It was uplifting things to hear such a precious daughter of our Heavenly Father call me something so sweet. I am a daughter of god and she most definitely is too, one of the most precious. It was one of those moments where you needed to hear something that you didn’t even realize you needed to hear. A tender mercy of the Lord. I love my Heavenly Father and I am constantly reminded that he loves me too. I may not always feel like I’m good enough, but I’m always enough to feel like I’m good. I don’t really have anything else to say for this post, I just thought I’d share my joy :D

College is Not the Place to Go for Ideas

I am in college.
I have been in college for a semester and a half altogether now, but it has not been until this semester that I’ve finally understood people who say, “I LOVE COLLEGE!!” because I do too! This semester has been fantastic and I have some of the greatest roommates on the planet. The amazing thing about all of us though? Each girl is completely different from the next and it doesn’t get in the way! In fact, I may be so bold as to say that’s part of the reason we love each other so much.
Dannielle is this adorable, gorgeous blonde girl from Utah that loves people immediately and knows everyone. She’s the kind of girl that is happy ALL THE TIME but in the best way possible. She doesn’t impose her joy upon you, it’s just infecting. Plus, she’s an amazing dancer and super random and crazy. Also, in a small world moment, she can ride a unicycle too! Honestly, what are the odds that the only other girl I've ever met that can ride a unicycle would end up being my roommate?? Its fantastiiic!
April, her roommate, is hilarious and loves basketball and cop shows. She’s from Oregon and she’s completely down to earth, and is the person that everyone goes to for advice. She also has an extreme infinity for black men which I think is wonderful :) haha!
Peyton, is possibly the sweetest person alive. She’s completely drama free which is definitely a plus in my book. When I say she’s a complete sweetheart I mean it in the sense that she see’s the best in everyone, but she knows how to crack a joke, even if she doesn’t mean it. Also, she’s from Southern Virginia and has the cutest accent ever. Window ---> Winda. Cute. As. A. Button.
Sarah is Peyton’s roommate and is sarcastic, funny and super little but I love her and she’s got an awesome story. She lived in Turkey for a couple years but has since moved back to Oregon and has just done some pretty sweet things. She’s also a pretty great guitar player and I love jamming with her.
Last but not least, Karen! She is my room roommate and she’s sooo funny. She too is from Oregon, she’s an art major and loves video games (she’s going into gaming animation), Japan and everything to do with it and the word “freaking”. I love her, she’s really easy to get along with. To quote her, “what the heck ever man!” Oh! also an RM, sweet right?

The “Hoes of 105” so called by April have had some rockin adventures already. We have trekked around the sand dunes, shopped, cooked together, made almost weekly runs to G's Dairy and had a random, freestyle jam session with mustaches on, got horked and built the most epic fort that has ever hit the apartments of Rexburg! And that my friends, is not a joke.

All in all, this semester is adding up to be amazazing. And that's a fact.
